CONNECTION

Connection: Less noise more calm

9 April – 14 May 2026

In her forthcoming exhibition Connection, Nessi Penman invites the viewer into a quieter way of seeing the natural world. Her paintings explore the subtle relationship between landscape and presence, where nature becomes more than scenery – it becomes a conduit for stillness, reflection, and inner calm. At a time when life is increasingly defined by noise, speed, and constant stimulation, Penman’s work offers a gentle counterpoint. Her landscapes encourage a slowing down of perception, allowing the viewer to reconnect with the quiet rhythms of the natural world. In these moments of stillness, nature becomes a mirror through which we rediscover our own sense of balance and clarity.

The works in Connection suggest that peace is not something we must search for in distant places, but something that emerges when we allow ourselves to become fully present. Through soft atmospheres, open spaces, and subtle shifts of light, Penman creates environments that invite contemplation rather than distraction. Ultimately, the exhibition reminds us that the deeper our connection with nature becomes, the more we begin to experience the calm that already exists within us.

THE ARTIST

Nessi Penman is a contemporary artist known for her expertise in impressionist impasto painting.

Her artwork invites viewers to immerse themselves in the captivating beauty of nature, with her

deep admiration for the environment and belief in the interconnectedness of all living beings greatly influencing her life and artistic expression.

Penman's artistic stylistic technique involving the skilful application of heavy impasto layers of oil paint results in textured and multi-dimensional artwork. She aspires to evoke a sense of tranquillity. She hopes that viewers will be able to tap into their own innate creative spirit as they immerse themselves in her art. Ultimately, her aim is to help individuals rediscover their innate connection to nature and the paradise in which we reside.

Below our words to one another and inner conversations, we bring to life ideas and relationships borne from the invisible into the visible realm. I am in love with those surreal moments when the feeling of being part of that thread allows the painter within me to become part of this eternal tapestry we call life.
